Mission Statement of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church
The mission of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ’s liberating gospel through word and deed. At every level of the Connection and in every local church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church shall engage in carrying out the spirit of the original Free African Society, out of which the AME church evolved: That is, to seek out and save the lost, and serve the needy through a continuing program of (1) preaching the gospel, (2) feeding the hungry, (3) clothing the naked, (4) housing the homeless, (5) cheering the fallen, (6) providing jobs for the jobless, (7) administering to the needs of those in prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, asylums and mental institutions, senior citizens’ homes, caring of the sick, the shut-in, the mentally and socially disturbed, and (8) encouraging thrift and economic advancement.
Mission Statement of St. James AME Church (Chicago)
St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church strives to raise the Christian standard within the metropolitan Chicago area, nation, and world through its holistic ministry to both the individual and family by a commitment to Mission, Evangelism, Proclamation and study of the Word, Worship, and Stewardship. We are compelled to make a difference by ministering to the total needs of our members, and people from all walks of life, regardless of age, gender, national origin, or economic background.

Verse of The Day - Comes from the NIV Bible
13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
 1 Corinthians 10:13
